Overview

The primary function of the Detailer is to provide technical and engineering support in areas related to engineering and design, under the general direction of the Project Engineers. Effective time management and strong organizational skills are essential for success. Close interaction with engineers and Project Managers is required to help support the overall success of the packaging group.

Basic Duties

  • Preparation of engineering submittals on all packaging projects.
  • Review project documents for compliance with project requirements/specification.
  • Provide engineering support to Project Engineers and Project Managers.
  • Provide application support to customers and engineers when needed.
  • Provide support to the production shop to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products
  • Prepare drawings for sheet metal components.
  • Revise drawings to accommodate changes and enhancements.
  • Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Required.
  • Advanced knowledge of AUTO CAD software required.
  • Knowledge of diesel and natural gas generator sets is preferred.
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Military encouraged to apply.
  • Must have a clean driving record. This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle will be performed on final candidate).

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

This position works primarily in an office environment. May, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk for a long period of time; answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means, and in a vehicle traveling to and from locations. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 20lbs. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields) when needed. The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate to low. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.  The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
