POSITION SUMMARY: 

The purpose of the Building Construction Products (BCP) outside sales position in East Dundee, IL is to provide sales and support to the Caterpillar products. The salesperson is to sell new and used Caterpillar Building Construction Products carried by Altorfer. Develop new business while maintaining current customer accounts while executing the company’s policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

• Maintain BCP sales in the East Dundee Territory (IL) while reaching or exceeding the personal sales goals set by the Tractor Division.
• Create sales opportunities while maintaining current Altorfer customers.
• Setting regional marketing plans to penetrate the surrounding areas.
• Must be willing to take occasional sales calls after hours.
• Must be willing to call on customers out in the field.
• Organize and execute sales files, warranties, product rebates and financial documentation.
• Predictable and regular attendance is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Reports to the General Sales Manager

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE: 

• Experience – Five years of relative outside sales experience is required for the position.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Communication – Must handle incoming sales calls and face-to-face customer interactions thru product quotations and sales call procedures.
• Computer Skills – Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have the ability to learn Caterpillar & Company software.
• Organizational – Must be well organized, proficient in time management and work well with both tractor personal and Altorfer employees
• Personal Management – Must work with the department to reach the goals set by management and follow all company policies.
