    Job Summary: This position is responsible for differentiating Caterpillar product with technology to create additional sales and help grow market share.  Success also depends on the ability to trouble-shoot software associated problems, answer technology related questions, and determine if a question can be answered over the phone, or if it is machine related and needs to be turned over to the service department.

    Basic Duties

    Basic Job Duties:        

    • Serve as a liaison between Altorfer Inc., our customers, Caterpillar Inc, Trimble Inc. and Sitech Midwest.
    • Organize and administer technical information sources for distribution to those in need.
    • Assist with, conduct, and implement training as needed.
    • Assure Altorfer Inc. has appropriate overall technical competence.
    • Offer support that meets or exceeds customer expectations and helps resolve customer issues.
    • Promote safety and environmental responsibility and travel as needed for business purposes.
    • Other duties as assigned




    • Previous background in Construction or Agriculture preferred.
    • Must be a self-starter with good time management and ability to multitask.
    • Computer literate required. Must be able to work in multiple applications at the same time and familiar with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent customer service skills.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on file candidate)

    Working Conditions:

    This position works in an office and warehouse/shop environment. May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs. May be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields) when needed. The noise level in the warehouse/shop environment is usually moderate to high and office environment noise level is usually moderate to low. May intermittently sit at a desk for a period of time to answer telephone calls and write or use a keyboard to communicate through email. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. 30% of travel is required. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
